Product Details

We are pleased to offer the expertly crafted and beautifully spiritual work of husband and wife Silversmiths, Ray Kyasyousie and Dorothy Poleyma-Kyasyousie. This bracelet has a highly polished surface, extremely small design, which is precise in its cutting and tell stories of important aspects of being and living at Hopi. Ray's pieces are hallmarked with his RK initials and Dorothy's hallmark is a stylized DP, which appear on the reverse side.

"The Kokopelli is the representative of fertility. They pray and play their flutes to Tawa-ee-Ta-na (Sun, our Father) to bless us with rain for our corn. Corn is the main food by which Hopi survive. When we came up from the 'si-pa-pu' (entrance into the fourth world) the people were given corn, a planting stick and a jar of water by Ma-sau the deity who this world belongs. He said if we are able and willing to toil and to live a simple life by using the tools he gave us, we were welcome to stay..the easy life in the third world led to corruption and then the destruction of that world." (As told to us by Dorothy Poleyma-Kyasyousie)

This highly polished bracelet measures 1/2 of an inch wide and is a total of 6 5/8 inches around the inside, which includes the 1 inch opening. Beautifully crafted by Ray Kyasyousie !
