According to Hopi legend, the Horned Serpent lives beneath the earth's surface. When the weight of the land above becomes too great, the Serpent becomes uncomfortable and begins to move and stretch...thus earthquakes occur. This highly polished 1 1/8 inch wide silver bracelet, which pays homage to this great creature, was created by Hopi Silversmith, Weaver Selina. The inside dimension measures 6 7/8 inches, which includes the 1 inch opening. Weaver's hallmark, the Rising Sun is stamped on the inside.
