Product Details
This lovely 1/2 inch wide bracelet was created by Hopi Silversmith, Clinessia Lucas , who calls this the “Hopi Bamboo Bracelet” The explanation of the design in her own words: “Hopi bamboo sticks represent the Hopi migration from the 3rd world to this world. We learned to use bamboo as a planting stick from one of the tribes we came across in the migration. We also learned about reed and tobacco. As we all did our journey to this new world that the Creator and Mother Earth gave to us, we also have to give back to them through prayer and songs. When the men go to the kiva, they smoke to their planting sticks with Hopi tobacco for the rain clouds to help nurture the plants to reach the harvest season.” This piece measures 6 7/8 inches around the inside, which includes a 1 1/8 inch opening. Clinessia’s hallmark is stamped on the inside, which she also explains, “ The hall mark is representing my Father's and Mother's Clan the Bear Paw with a C for my first name Clinessia and the Corn is the L for my last name Lucas”
