This exquisite bracelet featuring the Blue Star and Yellow Star Dancers was created by Silversmith, Eddison Wadsworth Soohafyah.
The design in Eddison's own words: "The Sa-quah-Hote (Blue Star) represents the star of the West. The Si-gah-Hote (Yellow Star) represents the North star. The Hopis look at the stars at night to determine certain ceremonial doings. In the Hopi way, the colors represent the four directions. The feathers on these two Hote's are all eagle feathers." This magnificent bracelet was created by Silversmith, Ramon Dalangyawma.
The designs on either side of the beautiful piece of turquoise are corn, clouds, rain and migration. Although the picture is slightly larger than the actual piece, it is 1 1/4 tapering down to 3/4 of an inch wide, 6 5/8 inches around the inside, which includes a 7/8 of an inch opening.
As we have said many times before, Ramon, aside from the mirror-finish he places on his pieces, uses the heaviest gauge of silver that we have ever seen, therefore, it is worth mentioning the 1/16 of an inch
thickness! Ramon's hallmark, his last name is stamped on the reverse side.
