We were very fortunate to be introduced to a member of the next generation of Hopi Silversmiths, Andrew Talahaftewa, grandson of world renowed Silversmith, Roy Talahaftewa. Andrew received awards for his
work during the last two Hopi shows held at the Museum of Northern Arizona. This particular piece was cast in tufa stone, is set with a deep blue agate, measures 1 1/2 tapering down to 3/4 inches
wide and a total of 6 1/8 inches around the inside, which includes a 1 inch opening. When asked about the design, Andrew described it this way "The bracelet's meaning is more
contemporary. The circular figure of the bracelet signifies the planets in the vast universe we live in. The stone signifies a lunar rock from a distant planet or from one of the planet's
many moons. This bracelet as a whole brings meaning to my self understanding of the universe". It will be exciting to follow the progress of this very talented sixteen year
old! 961-10226
